Adventure Camp
Variety Adventure Camp Affirms "I CAN!" Philosophy Variety Adventure Camp is a fun, fulfilling affirmation of Variety’s "I Can!" philosophy. Children ages 4-12 with physical disabilities are eligible to attend this extraordinary day camp each summer and engage in a wide range of fun, challenging activities in the areas of sports, fitness, sensory art and music.
Variety Adventure Camp, which runs for three week-long sessions, is based at The Heights Community Center in Richmond Heights, Mo. Campers have participated in challenging athletic endeavors, including ice skating, rock climbing, soccer and basketball, and field trips have included Creve Coeur Park, the International Bowling Hall of Fame and Catch 22 Miracle Field.
Specially trained counselors and medical professionals are on-site each day throughout camp. An emphasis is placed on safety, proper equipment fit and expert instruction to each camper’s ability level.
Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis hires counselors with disabilities age 16-21 for their very first job experience. In addition, volunteer positions as junior camp counselors are available to Variety children age 13-15. For some, it has been a first job opportunity.

Variety Adventure Camp is a free program for children with physical disabilities. Activities are designed for children ages 4-12 who are cognitively age appropriate. Certain project costs have been underwritten in the past by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, Youth Opportunities Program.
