Hannah's Dreams Come True

"She's gotta be the happiest child I ever met in my life." These are the words of Steve, father of Variety child, Hannah.

Featured on KTVI FOX 2 last night, Hannah, age 8, was born with spina bifida, a birth defect that left her paralyzed below the knees. Despite this diagnosis, Hannah finds joy in everything she does. In her eyes, she has much to be thankful for, click here to find out why.

Hannah's most recent joy was being adopted. With 6 other siblings, Hannah's parents are relying on Variety the Children's Charity to help provide any medical equipment needs she may have until the age of 21. Hannah's mother said, "Children weren't meant for institutions, children were meant for families." With Variety's help, adopting Hannah wasn't even a question.

So far, Variety has provided Hannah a new wheelchair, a wheelchair lift for the family van and a therapeutic bike. Shown in the video is Hannah's newest piece of equipment – her forearm crutches. The crutches and bike will help build Hannah's muscles, each day, bringing her closer to her goal of walking.
