In St. Louis today, Hannah is dreaming of new friends and adventures.

Eight-year-old Hannah was born with spina bifida, a congenital disorder that occurs when the spinal column doesn’t completely close, causing paralysis of the legs.

It’s tough to keep up with her as she zips around in her manual wheelchair, and she hopes to take that energy to Variety Adventure Camp this winter.

Hannah has heard from her cousin, Selah, who also has spina bifida, that Variety Adventure Camp is a magical place where kids of all abilities can say “I CAN!” to activities like swimming, ice skating, arts and crafts, music and cooking. Limits and boundaries are thrown out the window. Selah flourished at camp, becoming comfortable in the swimming pool, creating artistic masterpieces and forming new friendships that will last a lifetime.
